Anjana Abraham is founder and artistic director of Anpal Centre for Creative Arts Education. A choral conductor, singer (mezzo soprano), and educator, she enjoys working with Church, school and community choirs. Abraham has been granted honorary membership of The Association of Croatian Choral Directors, and the honorary title of Maestra Mentor. She has also been invited as adjudicator at international choral competitions. Abraham graduated with a Master of Music in Music Education from The Boston Conservatory (M.M.Ed ’17), where she was awarded the Promising New Music Teacher Award 2016 and the Music Education Award 2017. Abraham was President of the Collegiate Chapter of NAfME (National Association for Music Education) in 2015-16 at The Boston Conservatory.
An alumna of Singapore Management University, Abraham has an undergraduate degree in Information Systems Management (BSc ISM), with a second major in Corporate Communications. Abraham was President and Music Director of SMU Voix (a cappella group), and was in the founding executive committee of the SMU Chamber Choir. She is the 2009 recipient of the University Student Life Arts Excellence Award (SMU's most prestigious honour for artistic achievement - individual).
Abraham has been involved in the administration of Nava Nirman Public School since 2011, and has also provided artistic direction for the programs of the performing arts department. Prior to this, she has worked as Regional Coordinator (Asia Pacific) with New York Stock Exchange Technologies (NYSE Euronext) based in Singapore. During her undergraduate studies, Abraham had the opportunity to be a trainee at the Delegation of the European Commission to Singapore (Delegation of the European Union to Singapore), and intern in technology public relations with Weber Shandwick in Singapore.
Her love for music has taken her on travels to Poland, Russia, Indonesia, Czech Republic, Singapore, Croatia and the U.S.A. Abraham is also a keen photographer -- and focuses on exploring the beauty of nature.
Abraham is pursuing graduate studies in Theology with a Concentration in Sacred Scripture from the U.S.A.
